Requirements for Completion

In order to complete the course, students complete a total of 18 credits or more consisting of 6 credits of Guidance in Integrated Research (required) + 12 credits or more of Study of Art Techniques and Study of Art Theory (required and selective); they must also receive research instruction, create a doctoral dissertation, and pass a review and examination.

Doctoral Degree Preliminary Examination

Doctoral degree examination students must pass the doctoral degree preliminary examination.

Application Period

Early July (in the prescribed format)

Submission Requirements

  • 1 copy of Doctoral thesis (min. 40,000 Japanese characters or min. 24,000 words in English)
  • 1 copy of Doctoral thesis abstract (in the specified form (for theses written in Japanese, up to 2,000 characters; up to 1,200 words for theses written in English)
  • Doctoral thesis and abstract data (PDF format)
  • Application Form for Practical Works Submission (not required for thesis-only students)
  • Practical Works (not required for thesis-only students)
